With fond memories and sad hearts, members of The Vajra Flame Foundation must bid a gentle farewell to a dear friend and spiritual sister,
Born May 27, 1952 in Beek, Holland, Martherese passed from this life surrounded by loved ones on November 6th, 2008.
Beloved wife of Larry Breuer, and devoted mother of her only daughter Zyanya, Martherese was a truly remarkable woman and dedicated spiritual aspirant.
Her professional training spanned multiple disciplines, including medical assistant, fashion designer, massage therapist and meditation teacher. Her exceptional creativity was evident in her cooking, dress designing and her photography.
Martherese was truly a planetary citizen. An avid traveler, she adored the rich landscapes and diverse cultures of planet Earth. India occupied a special place in her heart, and in her many journeys there, she met spiritual aspirants from all over the world, and with them shared meditation, spiritual initiation and a precious teacher.
She was a vibrant and caring person, who touched the hearts of all she met. She volunteered for many organizations and causes, including a seven-year association with The Vajra Flame Foundation, where she served for a year on the Board of Directors. Her spiritual service included teaching meditation classes, and a program for nonviolence to prison inmates, transfroming many lives.
Her infectious laugh and wonderful smile will remain in the memory of all who knew her. The irresistible radiance of her being will continue to shine, although we will truly miss her physical presence.
She is survived by her husband and daughter, her mother, a brother, three sisters, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday November 23rd, 2008 at The Center for Spiritual Living, 5801 Sand Point Way, N.E., Seattle, Washington
